    ROLE PURPOSE
    The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organization’s perspective.
    To direct, guide and lead the operations of the Emerging Business Division through strategic management of business and financial planning, business operations, product development, marketing and communication. This role will ensure Division strategy and operations are in alignment with overall organization strategy and customer requirements are addressed through ELM’s products and services to drive Emerging Business Division sales and profitability in order to meet established targets.

    Key Accountabilities
    Key Activities
    Strategic Planning
    Lead and direct the development of the Emerging Business Divisional strategy by consolidating different departmental strategies in line with ELM’s strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing Divisional strategies across ELM
    Ensure that Divisional strategy and related strategic plans are developed and implemented, which are aligned with the vision and mission of ELM
    Oversee the development of Emerging Business Division organization structure in an effort to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal fitment within ELM corporate structure
    Budgeting
    Oversee the consolidation and recommend the Emerging Business Division budget
    Monitor the financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon
    Internal Projects
    Lead and guide internal project teams in the planning, organizing, management and control of various projects in order to ensure that the project cycle is completed meeting agreed project parameters (cost budget, timelines, scope and quality), standards and objectives
    Emerging Business Operations
    Pilot the Emerging Business Division by directing the business operations and work processes in order to achieve established targets while maintaining highest level of quality standards
    Marketing Communication
    Direct the development of marketing and communication plans to promote Emerging Business Division products and services in order to ensure customer needs and aspirations are meet effectively
    Products and Services Development
    Guide the development of the products and services development strategy, identification of customer segments and development of marketing strategy to drive Emerging Business Division sales and enhance market share
    Demand Forecasting
    Guide the process of forecasting demand for Emerging Business Division products and services and ensure appropriate actions are implemented to meet expansion objectives to satisfy growth and development needs
    Sales Performance
    Monitor the sales performance of Emerging Business Division and provide necessary guidance and support to ensure achievement of targets
    Customer and Media Relations
    Lead development and sustenance of relationships with customers, media, opinion formers and relevant institutions to ensure that ELM is positioned positively to outside world
    Business Intelligence
    Drive business intelligence studies to ensure products and services are introduced in a timely and effective manner
    People Management
    Manage & evaluate employees’ performance with continuous feedback on their assigned targets and provide development opportunities to maximize the potential and engagement of employees
    Manage the talent pipeline in the organization through recruitment, effective utilization of employee development programs, mentoring programs, career planning and succession planning
    Manage Divisional changes through continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans
    Reporting
    Ensure that all reports of Emerging Business Division are prepared timely and accurately and meet the company and department requirements, standards, policies and procedures
    Policies, Processes & Procedures
    Develop and oversee the implementation of Divisional policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of Emerging Business Division activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality and cost-effective product/service
    Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the Division in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude
    Direct and oversee the development, updates, and implementation of various information Security practices and standards to ensure compliance and the protection of ELM data and information

    For coordinating on all matters pertaining to strategy formulation, articulation and business operations
    Corporate Affairs Division
    For coordinating on all matters related to planning, budgeting, defining guidelines, establishing performance parameters etc.
    All Managers of Emerging Business Division
    For coordinating all activities and making decision related to planning, sales, operations, services, marketing & communication, quality assurance etc.

    Key Customers
    For ascertaining and analyzing the needs of the customers and liaise in matters related to business development and sales
    Media organizations (Press/Video/Audio)
    For building and maintaining a network of relationships with key media personnel so as to create and disseminate positive perception about the organization
    Government Agency
    For high level coordination for any support/government intervention required pertaining to approvals/licenses etc.



    JOB SPECIFICATIONS
    Academic and professional qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree in business administration
    MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification from a recognized business school
    Years and Nature of Experience
    12 - 15 years of relevant experience in leading/managing IT business, including at least 8 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
