Job Purpose
Jobs at this level are responsible for assisting in network monitoring, participating in network traffic management and optimization, assisting in maintenance and reconfiguration of STC’s network systems and equipment with direction and guidance. Also, they are responsible for participating in resolving routine network faults/malfunctions
Key Responsibilities
Coordinates with seniors and understands the goals, plans and budgets involved for each assigned installation and maintenance project, to ensure all the work carried out is within the budget and in adherence with the plan
Assists in reconfiguring network equipment, in compliance with established operations and maintenance guidelines and procedures.
Assists in ad - hoc preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on networks and participates in upgrading and reconfiguring systems and equipment.
Performs on site monitoring of STC networks covering PSTN, Data, PLMN and Inte
ational Gateways (IGW), to ensure the network systems meet established quality standards
Executes network call supervision and call controls for hard-to-reach destinations to ensure effective customer satisfaction
Functions as front office customer support for Wholesale Business Unit (WBU) customers, in order to provide support in acting as an interface between WBU customers and various NOCs within STC.
Participates in implementing scheduled Maintenance Downtime (MDT) activities to minimize service impact on the network
Assists in remote testing on STC’s networks, analyses network faults and escalates issues to relevant personnel for ensuring effective resolution of reported issues
Reviews the documented customer complaints and maintenance log, for assisting in the preparation of team activity report.
Assists in compiling and analysing data related to project activities and develops non - standard and ad - hoc reports, highlighting bottlenecks in the operations and maintenance projects, to seniors.
Participates in specific inte
al projects pertaining to operations and maintenance process enhancement, in order to articulate action plans to improve operational efficiencies.
Reviews STC’s network procurement requirements forwarded by junior technicians and forwards the same to seniors, for review and approval.
Coordinates with exte
al vendors and participates in the payment procedures, as and when required.
Executes scheduled activities related to collection of subscribers meter readings from various PSTN switches and informs all collected data to conce
ed authorities, for billing generation
Qualifications/
Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication / Electrical / Computer / Mechanical Engineering
Required
Experience
0 - 2 years of experience working in network operations and maintenance areas
Desired Skills & Knowledge
Basic proficiency in network traffic management
Intermediate proficiency in using various network monitoring tools such as Smart care CEM, MAS7, RTTM, NTM, RTM, InfoVista, EWSD & 5ESS switches
Basic proficiency in planning and organizing work tasks
Advanced proficiency in adhering to relevant safety procedures
Intermediate proficiency in different switching technologies (Huawei NGN, EWSD, Ericsson, 5ESS)
Intermediate proficiency in using trouble ticketing system like Remedy
Good communication and influencing skills
Strong interpersonal skills
