Job Purpose
Jobs at this level are responsible for ensuring quality operations and maintenance projects for STC’s cable systems, through effective installation of cable equipment, providing technical expertise in fault identification and rectification and acting as a point of contact for all operations and maintenance issues. Also, they are responsible for participating in vendor selection and monitoring outsourced project against schedules, budgets and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinates across a number of work units within the specified area of work, to ensure efficient work flows and accurate outputs
Manages large scale projects and initiatives, as may be required by the reporting senior
Manages inte
al process improvement related projects and initiatives, as guided by the reporting senior
Participates in the development and evaluation of bids received from vendors for building/maintaining new cable systems and negotiates, when required
Inspects procured/manufactured cable equipment by performing quality and factory acceptance tests, to ensure effective quality of STC’s network equipment
Participates in various working committees of telecommunication network/systems consortia including Assignment, Routing and Restoration (AR&R), Operations & Management Group (O&M) and Network Operating Center (NOC) and maintains effective relationships with the member parties
Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensures that the current network/systems meet all established construction and maintenance agreements
Manages analyses of customer complaints and maintenance logs prepared by the reporting team and manages initiatives to improve customer satisfaction
Manages development and communication of statistics related to customer feedback on parameter inconsistencies and highlights relevant figures to management for effective resolution
Provides technical support in articulating STC’s service quality improvement approach and philosophy, in order to support and enable achievement of overall STC’s objectives
Conducts research and feasibility studies on new equipment and systems, in order to make relevant cost-effective recommendations to seniors
Provides technical expertise in the formulation of contingency plans and assists in implementation of DR (Disaster Recovery) project phases (planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing)
Provides expertise in improving STC’s network risk assessment and accesses systems to ensure that requisite standards are met and security measures are in - place to mitigate risks
Participates in analysing STC’s networks to identify inadequacies, inefficiencies and problems and recommends appropriate solutions and detailed engineering specifications for the same
Qualifications/
Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication / Electrical / Computer / Mechanical Engineering
Project Management Professional (PMP) or any equivalent certification
Required
Experience
6 - 8 years of experience working in network installation and maintenance areas
