Job Purpose: Provide civil and structural engineering support for Production, Maintenance, Reliability and PID departments, addressing existing equipment issues and fresh equipment design to optimize efficiency, safety, quality and cost effectiveness. Functional Duties: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publication; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies. Assist in conducting training sessions for operators, engineers and technicians in civil and structural engineering. Coordinate and participate in site civil and structural engineering safety and reliability audits. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and adopt Safety Loss Prevention principles. Provide civil and structural engineering support on maintenance projects and repairs Provide technical assistance and resolution/troubleshooting support Evaluate repair proposals for sound civil and structural engineering practice, conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval. Participate in fit- for- service evaluations of new and repaired civil and structural engineering equipment. Provide technical assistance and resolution/troubleshooting support in RCI. Participate in the review of the PPM program for maintenance goal alignment. Provide civil and structural engineering field support on construction projects. Support PID department in the preparation of project cost and work estimates, development of scope and material take- offs to support project estimates. Assist with analysis tasks to determine estimates of man- hours, materials and resources needed for successful and timely completion of project requirements. Evaluate vendors and engineering proposals for sound civil and structural engineering practice and conform to established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval. Participate in fit- for- service evaluations of new Civil & Structural Engineering equipment Evaluate vendors and service providers. Design structures and partner with experienced engineers and designers in multi- discipline team environment. Exchange technical information with peers, other engineering disciplines, and suppliers. Perform structural design and analysis calculation using gove
ing codes and standards and utilization of design tools such as Structure Analysis and Design (STAAD) and PC- MAT. Provide technical support and guidance on construction projects when requested by the Owner’s Representative or plant personnel. Ensure that environmental regulations and Safety and Loss Prevention principles are considered in the design. Coordinate with parent company and/or licensor to ensure Sadara specifications are updated with applicable changes. Review existing designs and independently evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in the adaptations and modifications required. Perform any job- related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Years of Experience: 8 years
