Job Purpose To take concepts brought forward and work alongside Flying Wing Instructors to produce specific and accurate design work and produce and design appropriate media to support and where possible improve on these concepts. Provide KFAA with highly detailed and accurate 2D and 3D Perspective Technical illustrations and graphics. The design solutions must communicate messages with high visual impact and uncomplicated comprehension. The Graphic Illustrator is a BAES representative and is responsible for demonstrating the personal qualities and capabilities essential to promote and protect BAES reputational interests with the customer. The Graphic Illustrator is responsible for maximising customer satisfaction through the delivery of services of the highest standards. The individual is to present themselves in a manner encompassing Ethical Behaviour and Code of Conduct and maintain appropriate standards of discipline. The individual to comply with all reasonable instructions issued by company representatives and which are within the individuals capability and experience. The job holder is directly accountable to the Chief Flying Instructor for production of quality graphic illustrations which have a direct impact on the quality of the training delivery service. Job Accountabilities · Perform graphic Illustration tasks as directed by Line Management. · Perform duties and delegated tasks from the Supervisor as directed. · Highlight SHE hazards to Supervisor. · Follow Supervisor policies and processes. · Generate reports as required by Supervisor. · Maintain cultural awareness with the customer at all times. · Conform to required standards and operating procedures in keeping with customer needs. · Self-monitor fatigue levels and highlight any conce

This includes the reporting of personal fatigue issues. · Produce KFAA training literature including but not limited to Handbooks, Training manuals and Power Point slide materials with detailed and accurate illustrations, images, presentations, training aids, posters, banners, certificates and logo/badge designs. · Create ideas and concepts then choose the appropriate software and style to meet the objectives. Have an understanding of preparing documents for print including output to large format. · Work with a wide range of media, including photography and video. · Manage illustration tasks assigned to in a manner demonstrative of a professional graphic illustrator. · The job holder is a qualified graphic illustrator. · Whilst no immediate financial budgets are involved, the requirement for decision making on illustration issues does have short term commercial impact. Recruitment Specification The position requires a strong understanding of Perspective, 2D and 3D Illustration, Multimedia and Graphic Design Essential · Fully qualified graphic illustrator · Advanced level user of Adobe Creative Suite of software with emphasis on illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. · A thorough knowledge of appropriate file formats for the migration of artwork between software problems. · Ability to handle multiple tasks and to work under high pressure conditions · Self-motivated with a good command of English both spoken and written. · A clear understanding of engineering principles · Good level of political and cultural sensitivity. · Ability to be an effective team player. · Good interpersonal and communication skills. · Good customer relationship skills. The job holder is required to have a minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Technical Illustration. General Certificate of Secondary Education. Including Art and Design, Graphic Design and Information Technology. A comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, 3D Studio Max, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
