The main purpose of the Construction Manager‘s job is to plan and manage construction works on site and to ensure compliance with project plan and set quality and safety standards 2. Principal Accountabilities Reports directly to the Site Project Manager / Project Manager Manages all operations of a complete site / specific zone within a site, and makes sure they are aligned with project plan and within budget Leads and controls all construction teams working at a project, and manages manpower allocation with respect to activities and tasks Reports to the Site Project Manager on project progress, conce
s, and disputes Ensures all operations are conducted within defined standards and methods Ensures all Health and Safety requirements are met on the site Controls and monitors the project budget with regards to man-hours and equipment hours and monitors their efficiency Follows up all materials required, identifies shortages, and reports to the Site Project Manager Coordinates with Material Engineers to ensure material is received on time Acts as package coordinator for main packages (subcontractor jobs) Reviews and understands all the details of the subcontractor’s contracts Manages and coordinates assigned sub-contractors on site, follows up on their progress in terms of quality and quantity of work Prepares project progress reports, and discusses them with the Site Project Manager Monitors and manages the priorities of projects’ phases as instructed by the Site Project Manager / Project Manager Ensures that all tasks are progressing smoothly, and solves any problems obstructing the progress Liaises between the Superintendant(s) and Project Engineer(s) to ensure proper work progress Proposes incentives to improve the labor productivity on site� Prepares to take on the Site Project Manager’s role Provides support for the professional development (including training) of direct reports 3. Communications and Working Relationships Reports to and supports the Project Manager on all matters relating to the assigned project(s) Coordinates closely with related inte
al functions during the project planning and budgeting exercise Coordinates closely with P&M during purchasing of materials Interfaces with clients and consultants during different phases of the project Interacts with subcontractors / suppliers during contract execution Coordinates with corporate departments for the provision of support services, example: HR & Admin, Finance, IT, etc. Interacts with and manages direct reports and operational issues on a daily basis 4. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Bachelor in Engineering; relevant technical certificates Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communications, presentation, and organization / project management skills, and a proven ability to motivate and manage teams Minimum 8 years experience in a comparable sized operation to ESEC Experience in the Middle East is a strong plus Fluent in English and preferably Arabic language 5.
