Research, analyze, forecast and interpret information about economic performance at a variety of levels from project to national level, explain economic phenomena and forecast market trends; Develop economic guidelines, standards, models and prepare points of view used in forecasting trends that support effective policy and decision making; Studying economic, financial and statistical data related to the labor market, conduct research on economic issues and provide findings through technical reports, presentations and other matters of communications; Completing policy analysis from a micro and macro-economic perspective, test the effectiveness of current policies, products or services and advising on the suitability of alte
ative courses of action; Study the socioeconomic impacts of new public policies, such as proposed legislation, services and regulations and make recommendations accordingly; Using economic concepts, theories and analytical techniques to provide advice and practical information that will aid planning and decision-making; Deliver numerous oral and visual presentations, which non-economist audiences must be able to understand thoroughly in order to ensure that arguments and outcomes will be readily accepted; Provide advice and consultation on economic relationships to businesses, public and private agencies, and other employers; Perform any other duties as required by the Direct Manager. Requirements : Postgraduate qualifications Ideally PHD in Economics or relevant subject; +6 years of relevant work experience in a relevant field is required; well-developed research skills including the ability to extract and analyses relevant data to make sound judgement; Ability to draw economic policy inferences and to recognize the potential constraints in their implementation; Excellent written and spoken communication skills to convey complex ideas to people with varying levels of economic expertise; Accuracy and attention to detail; Computer literate; Able to analyze and reason - both deductively and inductively; Able to draw economic policy inferences and to recognize the potential constraints in their implementation.
