Basic Function
Performs secretarial duties to support the unit/division head in assigned healthcare areas.
Scope
The Senior Medical Secretary performs, with no supervision, routine secretarial, clerical, and administrative tasks required to support the unit or division head. Responsibilities include handling correspondence, keeping records and filing, responding to telephone calls, reception duties, and any other tasks deemed necessary.

al: With patients and visitors where applicable.
Principal Duties
Performs the following duties:
Transcribes Medical records.
Receives, sorts, logs, and distributes incoming mail as required.
Receives, logs, and distributes outgoing mail as required.
Prepares routine correspondence.
Reviews outgoing correspondence for proper format, enclosures, etc.
Receives telephone calls and visitors.
Responds to routine inquiries and takes messages.
Operates office equipment (printer, scanner, fax machines)
Maintains office supplies as necessary.
Performs Receptionist duties where applicable.
Monitors the progress of assigned projects.
Maintains supervisor’s calendar and timekeeping as required.
Creates and maintains information and filing systems, both physical and on-line.
Maintains and handles itineraries as directed.
Performs duties specific to the organization /area assigned to as directed.
Education
2 years Diploma in related field.
Experience
Minimum 7 years secretarial experience.
Certifications/Other requirements as applicable
Ability to use medical terminology
Ability to use Teeline/Shorthand
Ability to use office equipment.
Good communication skills.
Good typing skills.
Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) is desired.
Able to work in a diverse environment as part of a team.
Good command of English. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
