Basic Function
Participates in the neuropsychological assessment and diagnosis of patients with neurological conditions.
Participates in the diagnosis and intervention of patients with psychiatric illness.
Serves as a professional member of the clinical staff in the division that provide mental health care to inpatients and outpatients with mental or psychological disorders.
Engages in preventive care as a part of an integrated program of curative and preventive medicine.
Scope
Provides clinical neuropsychological and clinical psychological assessment and treatment throughout John Hopkins Aramco Healthcare, including inpatient and outpatient populations.
Provides consultation-liaison clinical psychological/neuropsychological services hospital-wide.
Recommending and/or participating in the formulation/implementation of treatment plans to assist in patient management
Principal Contacts
As necessary with other professional staff throughout the Medical Organization, such as nurses, counselors, psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, patients’ representatives, and special health service staff or with patients’ friends, supervisors, teachers and others as related to evaluation and care of patients.
Principal Duties
Interviews, evaluates and formally assesses patients with neuropsychological and mental health problems for diagnosis and intervention purposes.
Evaluates and formally assesses patients with neurological problems and/or brain disorders, including traumatic brain injuries, dementias, epilepsy disorders, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other neurologic conditions.
Applies and interprets various neuropsychological batteries and tests in order to contribute to the diagnosis and management of patients.
Assesses and evaluates patients to clinically differentiate among organic and psychogenic symptoms of patients presenting with neurological conditions.
Performs neuropsychological test related to invasive procedures as requested by neurologists and other specialists, such as inte
al carotid Amobarbital procedure, in patients for epilepsy surgery.
Administers psychological interventions and cognitive rehabilitation to patients with brain syndromes and brain anomalies.
Provides various psychotherapies, including individual, group and family therapies.
Contributes in the academic and training activities of the division.
Engages in the clinical research and actively participates in the standardization of existing and new clinical and neuropsychological assessment tools.
As necessary performs administrative responsibilities and leadership roles.
Education
A PhD Degree in Clinical Psychology/Neuropsychology from a recognized college or university.
Experience
10 years of experience in the field of clinical neuropsychology and clinical psychology.
Extensive work experience as a senior clinical neuropsychologist in an elite institution, involving patients with a variety of neurological conditions.
Extensive work experience as a senior clinical psychologist in an elite institution, involving patients with a variety of psychiatric and psychological/ disorders / problems.
Established research record.
Established record in training various categories of junior mental health and neurology residents.
Certifications/Other requirements as applicable

National licensure.

ational membership of relevant professional bodies.
Comprehensive and demonstrated knowledge of medical ethics with regard to the obligation to maintain work confidentiality.
Advanced knowledge of brain-behavior relationship, brain anatomy and functions, cognitive domains in normal and abnormal functioning, psychological processes in normal and abnormal functioning, and the principal psychological attributes of mood, intelligence, personality.
Advanced knowledge of psychological and neuropsychological assessment strategies, batteries and tests.
Fluency in Arabic and English languages.
