NST Support Staff - Mechanical

Your Main Responsibilities

• supporting the delivery of Naval Specialty Training in the Mechanical field at the Technical Institute for Naval Studies (TINS)
• assisting the NST Mechanical Instructors in specialist practical training
• ensuring the welfare of students in assigned areas during training activities and support the monitoring of student performance so that each individual achieves maximum progress towards the training objectives
• ensuring all classroom, laboratory and workshop practical demonstrations and exercises are setup prior to the commencement of each lesson
• maintaining all technical equipment in assigned areas
• providing support and supervision during student assessments and evaluation exercises, and supervision of any remedial training as required
• liaising with the NST Mechanical Instructors on best practice to contribute and support the planned delivery of lessons

Your Skills & Qualifications

Essential

• hold a diploma or equivalent in a technical discipline
•  be a graduate of an advanced military trade school or a civilian training establishment and have 3 years practical experience across a range of technical and engineering areas
•  a single pillar assessed English Language ability to IELTS 4.0 in speaking, and a minimum of IELTS 3.0 in reading and writing, achieved within the last 2 years
•  a minimum of 1 years’ experience delivering training via OJT
