[LEFT]Role Purpose:
To provide the leadership, direction and coordination of activities for the Communications Division. Take the day-to-day operational decisions, ensuring the Division achieves its results and that it fully contributes to the delivery of the Exte
al and Inte
al Communications Department goals.
To develop plans and programs for the implementation of the disclosure information policy of the IDB Group, act as a focal information disclosure body in the IDB Group, and all activities relating to inte
al communications within the IDB Group.
Key Accountabilities and Activities:
Strategy implementation and operational management
Participate in the development of the Secretariat Department strategy, budget and business planning processes
Create and implement actionable Communication Division short to medium term operational plans and budgets with operational KPIs linked to the Department strategy
Coordinate the Division’s activities so that it effectively utilises its resources, manages its priorities, and is able to be both responsive and proactive
Manage, monitor and evaluate the Division’s on-going performance and quality of its outputs and services, identifying and initiating actions for improvement and innovation
Build and develop productive inter-Divisional working relationships within IDB Group and with exte
al partners for joint working and knowledge sharing
Provide regular management reports with analysis and comment on Divisional performance and results
Inte
al Communication Management
Manage composition and dissemination of articles and professional reports for in-house, regional, national and/or inte
ational publications, websites, videos, etc. and respond to media inquiries and requests
Coordinate and facilitate the collection of web contents for the websites of the IDB Group from all entities
Develop speeches by professional speech writers for the members of the Management and Management of the IDB Group, ensuring that IDB Group’s key issues are systematically and adequately reflected in all addressed messages
Develop and execute comprehensive and strategic inte
al publishing programs and plans in coordination with the IDB Group affiliates and other Departments/Offices
Exte
al Communication Management
Manage and ensure sustaining of the IDB brand name for the exte
al world and raising the image and visibility of IDB Group as a leader in development finance and the proponent of Islamic Finance in member and non-member countries through showcasing IDB Group’s accomplishments and initiatives
Coordinate with the local, regional and inte
ational print and television media in order to disseminate specialized technical information conce
ing joint business and investment activities, of the IDB Group
Guide media outlets (daily and weekly publications, broadcast news organizations, publications, and inte
et news media) to the conce
ed specialists and advise the public about IDB Group public events (meetings, conferences, etc.)
Information Disclosure
Act as the Bank’s focal point in the interface with top tier print and television media
Follow up regularly on IDB news in the media, maintain an archive of the daily newspaper articles and disseminate inte
ally, daily press clippings to keep the Management abreast of the trends being in close coordination with the spokespersons of the Bank Group
Issue public meeting notices, and produce brochures, press releases, newsletters, booklets, videos, etc. and respond to media inquiries and requests.
Develop and maintain documentary films about the IDB Group, make multimedia presentations and display photos of the IDB Group events.
Develop plans and programs for the implementation of the disclosure information policy of the IDB Group.
Ensure inte
al compliance on issues arising from disclosure information, and prepare annual consolidated reports on the implementation of the policy
Initiate, overview, and conduct information and policy-related studies, special assignments, etc. which would enhance the requirements of disclosure and other related aspects
Ensure that the IDB Group operational data, news, studies, reports and documents on the websites are current, accurate and in accordance with the Group policy Annual Report
Coordinate and account for the preparation of IDB’s annual report partnering relevant Departments, producing the highest quality standards assuring its content and its presentation maintains or enhances the image of the IDB Group
Initiate and control timely publishing of IDB’s annual report People Management
Generate commitment, motivation and enthusiasm to the Communications Division goals, and guide Division members through periods of change or uncertainly
Provide clear direction, prioritise tasks, assign and delegate responsibility and monitor the workflow
Plan, manage and review individual performance and provide regular feedback, development and coaching, taking prompt action where necessary
Provide opportunities for Division members to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives
Ensure the Communications Division complies with IDB’s policies, processes, practices and systems
Knowledge sharing & innovation
Educate and create awareness of the IDBG’s development agenda, programs, and achievements world-wide and respond to queries
Stimulate colleagues to introduce process innovation and professional development for increasing efficiencies in the division through a Quality Assurance & Improvement Program in accordance with the best practices
Take every opportunity to transfer knowledge and share material that may be helpful to colleagues Reporting & communications
Provide regular management reports that include on one hand insights, analysis and forecasts on the Division’s performance and results and on another hand the situation, developments, and perspectives
Collaborate with other Division Managers and Department Director to draft the Communication Services Chapter for insertion into the Bank’s Annual Report
Communicate intended results, results achieved, performance, and lessons lea
t within the Division as well as to the Management, relevant bodies, partners and other key stakeholders
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:
Communications / Business Management / or equivalent
Bachelor with 15 years experience in similar role/level
Master with 12 years experience in similar role / level
Doctorate with 10 years work experience in similar role / level
Technical Skills & Necessary Knowledge:
Experience in designing and implementing office technology solutions
Knowledge of business productivity tools
Updated with the latest trends in the IT Services industry
Advanced certification in Communication/Public Relations
Experience in designing and implementing IT Services
Advanced organisational, planning, and communication skill
Research and proofreading skills to ensure all materials are high-quality and accurate
Demonstrated experience in the broader field of communication (e.g. Jou
alism, PR, Marketing)
Basic understanding of socio-economic development, especially poverty reduction and sustainable growth and how they relate to the IDB Group Basic knowledge of Islamic Finance
Languages:
English is required
Arabic is required
French preferred
