[LEFT]Role Purpose: To provide the leadership, direction and coordination of activities for the Data Resources and Statistics Division To supervise the day-to-day statistical-related activities of the Bank, ensuring the Division achieves its results and that it fully contributes to the delivery of the Economic Research & Policy Department goals. To formulate high-impact IDB programs & initiatives on statistical agenda towards promoting inclusive & sustainable growth. Key Accountabilities and Activities: Strategic Implementation and Operational Management Participate in the development of the Department strategy, budget and business planning processes Create and implement actionable Division short to medium term operational plans and budgets with operational KPIs linked to the Department strategy Co-ordinate the Division’s activities so that it effectively utilises its resources, manages its priorities, and is able to be both responsive and proactive Manage, monitor and evaluate the Division’s ongoing performance and quality of its outputs and services, identifying and initiating actions for improvement and innovation Build and develop productive inter-Divisional working relationships within IDB Group and with exte
al partners for joint working and knowledge sharing Provide regular management reports with analysis and comment on Divisional performance and results. Statistical Research Development & Data Management Develop annual statistical agenda to feed into the work program of the Department Develop new indices to monitor development performance of member countries in various economic sectors as well as progress of the Bank in key dimensions of its Strategy Prepare regular reports on progress of inte

ational initiatives (such as the pillars of IDB Group Strategy, Sustainable Development Goals etc.) Develop adequate statistical capability to support the expanded research program of the Chief Economist Complex Supervise the preparation of IDB’s Annual Statistical Publication including Statistical Monograph, Facts and Figures, Pocket Data Card etc.) Ensure the IDB Group has timely access to quality assured data and provide reliable statistical services and research support. Ensure an efficient and focussed collection of statistical data, in various forms, on various indicators relevant to the development activities of the IDB Group from various sources including from regional and Member Countries and assure IDB’s high quality and professional standards Ensure the reliability and timely collection of data on IDB Group activities to facilitate research, operational programs and projects analysis, and performance monitoring in IDB Group as well as in Member Countries Manage various statistical databases to support research activities of the Bank. Statistical Advisory Services Provide statistical advisory and analytical services to support the operational and research activities of the IDB Group, including providing advice and assistance on the use of appropriate statistical methods, communicating concepts and interpreting results (especially information and data analysis for policy formulation, implementation and evaluation as well as monitoring of progress towards achieving of various initiatives of IDB Group). Statistical Capability Improvement Supervise and be accountable for the development of statistical information system, knowledge database and analysis system of IDB Group in collaboration with relevant Departments and entities to ensure timely access to accurate, reliable and consistent data on the operational activities of the IDB Group Manage and implement the IDB-STATCAP Initiative with Departments and entities of the IDB Group as well as exte
al organizations/donors Ensure collaboration with other MDBs and donors to develop statistical capability of member countries Participate in global and regional statistical initiatives. Knowledge Sharing & Innovation Identify, recommend and implement sponsorship of local, sub-regional, and regional training workshops and seminars to increase the sharing of experience and knowledge between MDBs and other institutions in the subject area Develop publications, convene meetings, and undertake studies to promote best practices Represent IDB in multilateral and regional events, such as coordination and consulting meetings and conferences. People Management Generate commitment, motivation and enthusiasm to Division goals, and guide Division members through periods of change or uncertainly Manage the performance and resources of Data Resources and Statistics Division through delegation of responsibility, setting stretch objectives and providing regular feedback on results, promptly addressing areas of underperformance Coach, mentor and develop the top talent/high potentials in the Division; succession plan for key roles Provide clear direction, prioritise tasks, assign and delegate responsibility and monitor the workflow Plan, manage and review individual performance and provide regular feedback, development and coaching, taking prompt action where necessary Provide opportunities for Division members to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives Ensure the Division complies with IDB’s policies, processes, practices and systems. als. Demonstrated skills in translating models and analysis into policy implications and advice over a wide-range of areas. Substantive record of effectively leading and mentoring teams in his/her functional area carrying out economic or statistical work and realizing sought results within agreed timeframes, resources and quality.
