[LEFT] Technician, DCS Support - Maintenance - Y Job Description JOB PURPOSE Execute Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities covering Hardware, Software for DCS, PLC and associated computer and equipment’s, to operate according to specifications, to meet all functional requirements through carefully planned maintenance processes and immediate action if irregularities and failure occurs for all systems in the power and water plants wide. With the objective of increasing unit efficiency, reliability, availability, and maintainability. RESPONSIBILITES  Execute preventive maintenance activities on process control units for the DCS/PLCs and remote terminal units; HMI and DCS related equipment in accordance with a predetermined maintenance schedule and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and requirements. In addition to this, he execute other control work as assigned by the DCS engineer  Execute corrective maintenance activities in case of unexpected failure and take immediate and corrective action so that the fault is remedied and full operating capability is restored.  Prepare technical report analyzing probable causes of encountered problems and recommend solutions to correct such problems. Restored.  Determine required spare parts required for maintenance works.  Inspect and issue the spare parts from the warehouse.  Troubleshoot any failures/abnormalities in the unit control systems and support for field instruments failures. Perform trip or failure analysis depending on the situation, then carryout necessary actions accordingly.  To fine-tune equipment after major inspections, or installation of new equipment.  Troubleshoot control system equipment’s in addition, performs other instrument work as assigned.  Ensure Good Housekeeping practices airing Maintenance work and ensure proper cleanup and restoration of the work area at the end of the job.  Prepares reports on major outages, abnormalities and major equipment history.  Keeps abreast of new trends and developments for the DCS/PLC control systems in the plant width.  Recommend improvements to departmental procedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of maintenance activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.  Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of maintenance activity to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.  Receiving the PTWC as per policy and procedure Skills MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE Minimum Qualification  Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Instrumentation.
