QC Mgmt Systems Senior Engineer Salary: £53,752.85 Location: Taif Inspired Work JOB PURPOSE To lead the Quality function as the first point of contact for all Quality issues affecting the Typhoon Fleet. This role is located within the Royal Saudi Air force (RSAF) Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) at Taif, KSA, in order to monitor compliance with, and the adequacy of, procedures required to ensure safe operational practices and airworthy aircraft. This will be in accordance with RSAF publications and mandatory continuing airworthiness requirements. Additionally, responsibilities extend to assisting the Safety and Quality Manager to establish and maintain a RSAF Quality Management System in Support of Typhoon operations whilst conducting proactive tactical management of the Quality activities. The TSC has evolved from a concept organisation which was originally structured to support 24 Typhoon A/C in a training role at KfDAB. It has subsequently become a multi-disciplinary and mature team that actively manage an ever increasing fleet across multiple bases and deployed locations in both a training and operational role. As the fleet matures/ages there is increasing focus upon the support to capability insertion (i.e. modifications and Equipment Authority [EA] changes); obsolescence; and developing maintenance requirements (i.e. Scheduled Maintenance and Upgrade [SMU]). JOB ACCOUNTABILTIES The job holder will be accountable for: Leading the Quality function within the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) in order to monitor compliance with, and the adequacy of, procedures required to ensure safe operational practices and airworthy aircraft. Assisting the Safety and Quality Manager to establish and maintain a RSAF Quality Management System in Support of Typhoon operations. Conducting and coordinating proactive strategic and tactical management of the Quality activities. Generating the audit plan and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure adequacy of the plan against the requirements of the Regulatory Framework of Logistics (RFL). Managing the audit programme and the audit team. This includes the planning and preparation activities; conducting the audits; and production of quality audit reports using the RFL required format (RSAF Form 792B and Form 792C). Training of auditees as the nominated Lead Auditor. This training shall develop individuals from audit team members to future Lead Auditors and will include On the Job Training (OJT) and briefings. Investigating and analysing perceived/identified quality deficiencies in the delivery of the TSC service, condition of equipment, audit observations or potential improvements. Managing and maintaining the processing of Quality Occurrence Reports (QORs). Highlight quality deficiencies and potential improvements within the RSAF and from the RSAF to the PC (using RSAF Form 791 & Form 791A). Record the status of QORs and report on findings and identified trends. Managing the Defect Investigation (DI) process to ensure that issues related to specific aircraft defects are actively communicated to industry to establish root cause. Coordinate the provision of programme plans and report DI progress to the relevant stakeholders. Managing the development and authorship of processes within the quality function. With the increasing maturity of the quality function there is more reliance on formal processes to ensure repeatability and reduce error. Identifying and briefing to the RSAF Typhoon Support Centre Operational Commander on significant trends and audit / assessment results. Providing advice and guidance to stakeholders as required to ensure that the quality management requirements are effectively met. Representing the RSAF at key quality meetings and liaising with all stakeholders through formal briefings and meetings (i.e. RSAF Base personnel and Prime Contractor [PC]). Managing the continuous improvement process. Highlight areas for possible improvement and communicate best practice. Supporting the Scheduled Maintenance and Upgrade (SMU) review cycle thorugh the Pre-Input Review Meetings (PIRMs) and Pre-Output Review meetings (PORM) as required to ensure quality management requirements are effectively met during the transition of the A/C between the RSAF and the Prime Contractor (PC). Provide Counterpart training for RSAF and/or Saudi National quality management staff, in form of training, coaching, work experience and mentoring as appropriate. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential: Educated to Degree/HND or equivalent level in an Aeronautical / Engineering discipline. Alte
atively having completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry / military. Extensive proven experience in a Quality Assurance / Quality Control role. Extensive knowledge of ISO9001; AS9110; and / or the RSAF Regulatory Framework of Logistics (RFL), including the requirements for continuing airworthiness management. Broad quality and / or safety auditing experience against national or inte
ational standards. Experience in the development and / or the maintenance of Quality Management Systems. Proficient in strategic thinking and capable of communicating ideas and solutions across the management command chain. Ability to co-ordinate programmes and to communicate, influence and direct the decision making process at all levels. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Problem solving abilities set and manage work direction in an often changing environment. Ability to set and deliver complex tasks to demanding deadlines. A seasoned knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and presentation of data. The Individual must demonstrate the flexibility to apply knowledge/experience across trade boundaries in an operational military aircraft environment. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Ability to write concise, structured reports. Desirable: Experience on Typhoon or other fast jet platform. Experience of Quality Management within an operational environment. Existing knowledge of the Typhoon Engineering Support Subsystem (ESS). Existing knowledge of the TeamCentre application.
