Department: The role of the Lead Fund Management Specialist encompasses broadly defined objectives and responsibilities and functionally operates without technical supervision. This role is expected to provide technical knowledge to the Fund Management team. The role includes formulation of strategy-based investments in Funds of the IDB OCR, Waqf, Pension Fund, and Islamic Solidarity Fund, and assumes a lead technical role in the review of Funds Investments and proposals for presentation and discussion by the investment Committee. Additionally, the role oversees the overall monitoring of performance of multiple funds managed under IDB investment umbrella ensuring compliance with all regulatory and risk control guidelines. Person: Undertake a key role in formulating new investment funding strategies taking in note of the current market trends and future economic projections to ensure better retu
s from invested funds. Undertake a leading role in facilitating and planning allocation of capital to diverse funds to ensure effective utilization of assets under management. Technically lead the Fund Management team to identify and evaluate new investment opportunities in potential funding areas by continuously monitoring the state of economy and performance of fund houses. Advise management on issues related to complex Fund Management matters to address a variety of departmental Fund Management issues. Technically lead the formulation of appropriate Funds’ Investments guidelines, policies, methods and procedures consistent with the Bank approved relevant policies. Responsible for the development, update and maintenance of investments guidelines, policies, methods and procedures in conformity with agreed policies of the Bank as well as adoption of best practices in the area. Ensure policies and procedures are being followed in Due Diligence and portfolio management. Monitor regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with the regulations and capitalize any changes in regulatory framework that can positively affect retu
on investments. Ensure funding activities are in compliance with IDB regulatory framework. Conduct regular training and awareness programs for the department on latest regulations, gove
ment policies and tax laws prevalent in the member country that might affect the investment choice in a fund. Conduct workshops for fund officers explaining them the new investment strategy and risk mitigation policies followed by IDB. Attend investment briefings organized by different fund houses or consult financial media to stay abreast of best performing funds in the financial market. Represent IDB at appropriate professional and public forum as and when required. Regularly meet investors to sense any change in their investment objectives and accordingly communicate the same to fund officers to ensure funding activities are conducted in accordance with the requirements. ment policies and tax laws prevalent in the member country that might affect the investment choice in a fund. Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with multilateral development institutions and investment banks for development/promotion of Islamic financial products and funds for resource mobilization. Review and assess financial briefing and present them to the senior management for further decision making. Coordinate and communicate with fund officers responsible for different funds/portfolio of funds and recommend any changes in asset allocation as per future market projections. Communicate with the management of fund houses on performance of IDB’s investment. Prepare/publish regular reports on latest regulations applicable to similar institutions in inte
ational market to come up with effective regulation and supervision mechanism at IDB. Review and assess reports prepared on performance, attractiveness and acceptance of IDB portfolio of funds. Interpret complicated financial reports and compile them in a lucid and comprehensive form to help senior management in necessary decision making. Experience: 12 years of relevant experience with Masters Degree, 15 years with Bachelor or 10 years with Doctorate degree. Expertise in investment management standards and procedures Qualifications: Bachelor, Masters (highly preferred) or above degree in Finance / Economics / Business Administration / any relevant discipline .CFA, CAIA, certification in a related areas is highly recommended and would give a distinctive advantage Other Information: Computer skills with expertise on MS Office; Advanced capabilities in MS Excel required Excellent quantitative and computing skills.
