JOB PURPOSE
The Supply Chain Depth Support Group Leader located at Taif. The post is responsible for the co-ordination of the Engineering Logistics Portal (ELP) and Maintenance Liaison Activities (MLA) for the Typhoon aircraft platform and associated assets employed in support of the Salam Support Solution (SSS) Phase II Contract.
This includes aircraft platforms deployed, ‘Forward’, ‘On & Off Depth Maintenance’, and also those undergoing work in the, ‘Scheduled Maintenance Upgrade’ (SMU) Facility.
The incumbent will ensure that Maintenance activities undertaken by the ELP and MLA achieve aircraft availability levels that meet specified targets or mandated KPI’s.
This is a senior position within the Centralised Support Function (CSF) ensuring the correct allocation of assets into the repair process in order to meet the operational demands of the Typhoon fleet. Assets are to be prioritised for repair and direction is to be given to the 22 on-base Maintenance Shops in order to meet AOG or critical demands for Depth Maintenance. Shelf and bench stock levels (including Kanban) are to be monitored to ensure Shop outputs are maintained..
In addition to extant IT systems, this role will drive the introduction of the Integrated Maintenance Solution (IMS) currently being supplied by, ‘Maintainix’ from Ottawa, Canada. IMS will enhance the visibility and control of Maintenance Shop supported assemblies and their components and increase output of the Salam Support Solution.
JOB ACCOUNTABILTIES
Support the Supply Chain Depth Support Manager in the development of processes to task and prioritise the 22 on-base Maintenance Shops with unserviceable equipment. This includes Lifed and time-framed assets. Also the implementation of a Kanban system agreed with the Maintenance Shop Management to ensure effective levels of stock are maintained.
Support the Supply Chain Depth Support Manager and agree Shop Kanban levels (alongside the Depth Bay Maintenance Manager) for all Maintenance Shops.
Work to improve the Bill of Materials (BoMs) process so ensuring stock availability for the Maintenance Shops enabling increased production and reductions in waste.
Ensuring the In Kingdom Industrialisation Program (IKIP) is supported within the contracted requirements and that effective processes are developed to utilise the available In Kingdom (IK) capability.
Support the Supply Chain Depth Support Manager with the Implementation of processes to use Typhoon Technical Publication (TTP) 131 in all Depth Maintenance Shops. In addition, ensure effective forward planning as agreed with the Depth Bay Manager, and also monitor and develop the TTP 131 process.
Explore and identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of all Maintenance Shops and jointly identify Maintenance Policy (MPOL) improvement opportunities that will improve availability, productivity and economy.
Identify Tu
Round Time (TRT) efficiency opportunities with Process stake-holders.
Identify and Develop ’Capability Enhancement’ opportunities to make assets more reliable with less down-time.
Ensure METCAL (Test Equipment and Tooling) meets fleet requirements so reducing the exte
al support required to maintain MOB and FOB operations.
Be Line Manager for ELP personnel. Be prepared to discuss issues with staff and be willing to act upon feedback from the team or individual staff.
Manage Work Processes (WP’s) to ensure completion of the Part 145 Component Maintenance Facility and complete necessary data transfer and system updates.
Inform the ‘Issue Resolution Process’, and ensure any deviations including additions, changes, deletions and deferrals from the tasked WP are correctly authorised and documented in IMS, Engineering Support Solution (ESS) and other databases as required.
Review and authorise as necessary, ‘Asset Conditioning Recommendations’, for Condemned, ML4 and Beyond Repair (Scrap) Inventory.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Engineering/Logistics experience with a high level of knowledge which includes support to military/civil aircraft and associated documentation.
User experience of the following IT toolsets is preferable - IMS/IFS/DMS/ESS.
An understanding of the UK Military and BAE Systems logistics supply chains processes and procedures.
An understanding of, ‘Forward Aircraft Squadron Operations’, ‘Depth Maintenance Operations’ and BAE Systems aircraft production methods..
The understanding of Maintenance Line 1 (ML1), ML2, Production & Design (P&D) testing and WSSR Test concept and capabilities.
Be available to attend relevant briefings on different elements of the Typhoon Availability Contract.
Thorough Knowledge of the relevant data sets and processes relevant to the user’s area.
Relevant experience in Fault Diagnosis techniques and Technical Support Procedures.
Relevant Trade Q annotation or equivalent practical experience.
Excellent communicator with good stakeholder & customer management skills.
