Senior Civil Engineer: To lead development and implementation (from technical perspective) of the overall construction, renovation, and maintenance projects. In addition to the related planning design and organization of technical activities to ensure timely, safely execution and ongoing success for the delivery of construction/ maintenance projects at different IDB Group locations Person: Play a leadership and advisory role to clients and colleagues in handling complex Civil Engineering tasks & issues in IDB HQ Buildings, Regional Offices and Gateway Offices. Participate in the development of annual work program, KPIs, budget and business planning of the Department. Advise on the planning process of Division’s activities in managing priorities and provide estimates for projects and initiatives related to area of responsibility. Contribute effectively to the formulation of the Department Strategy, annual plans, budget and policies & procedures and ensure proper implementation of the same. Design and deploy IDB Group’s facility management policies and framework to ensure all time availability of inte
ational standards facilities at diverse locations. Oversee the achievement of the Division work program and targets set for Energy Sector. Ensure conformance / compliance of construction and maintenance related activities as per the regulatory requirements. Participate/Coordinate the activities related to Bids Evaluation Committee of the Corporate Services Complex, or an equivalent setup, for compliance and oversight. Provide advice and direction on complex civil engineering issues specially related to complaints as per the guidelines and procedures Lead analysis for reports, technical drawings, blueprints, photography, geological or other topographical data to plan construction, renovation, and maintenance projects. Technically lead activities related to structural and architectural design for different projects as per IDB Group requirements. Ensure efficient development of the required structural design if required using gove
ing codes and civil engineering standards and provide technical inputs during the design phase as and when required. Oversee preparation of project reports with details on civil engineering cost, time and resources requirements. Prepare, check and approve civil engineering deliverables for the identified project. Ensure that project is implemented on time and within estimated cost. Pursue and exploit cost reduction opportunities wherever appropriate. Ensure close monitoring for the targeted projects –with focus on resolving technical issues related to those defined as problem project to ensure overall quality and assess the achievement of project objectives; Ensure proper space management in liaise with Human Resource Management Department and other conce
ed departments. Manages and coordinates the civil/structural activities to team of Engineers, Designers and provides technical supervision of the day-to-day activities of tasks assigned to personnel. Technically manage contractors working on different construction, renovation, and maintenance project at diverse locations of IDB Group. Develop RFPs and estimate initial costs. Oversee the bidding process for construction / renovation / maintenance related tenders and ensure selection of qualified contractors. Evaluate technical bids submitted by contractors for construction / renovation / maintenance projects and ensure timely provision of necessary technical clarifications. Lead and ensure all specialist engineering support and effective coordination with other IDB disciplines like electrical, safety and security and others for construction / maintenance projects and advice on meeting the required safety and environmental standards Organize, plan and participate in technical multi-discipline reviews of the project and progress meetings with contractor as and when required. Keep abreast of latest technical developments in constructions, renovation, and maintenance. Provide guidance and share knowledge with less experienced team members. Periodically evaluate supplier/contractor performance quality. Identify latest developments in construction standards, practices, and environmental conce
s of relevance to IDB and recommend strategies. Prepare periodic reports on performance of building and maintenance operations. Review and provide technical evaluation on teams/vendors/contractor proposals and reports Job Requirements and Professional Experience: Field of Study : Civil Engineering / Architectural Engineering / Project Management / Any related discipline Professional Experience: 12 years of experience after Bachelor’s Degree OR 9 Years of experience after Master degree OR 7 years of experience after PhD Technical Skills and Necessary Knowledge: Quantitative and analytical skills Applications in Engineering and building design, operation, and maintenance Strong negotiation skills Deep understanding of building codes and standards and emerging technologies and their implementation Facility Management Professional (FMP) Certificate is required Vast knowledge of principles, practices, methods and techniques of procurement, contracting, and contract administration Knowledge of legal terminology in the field Knowledge in computer software such as AutoCAD and M.S.
