Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
The British Consulate General in Jeddah has a vacancy for a Corporate Services Assistant, Grade A1 (L) position.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Estates: Supporting the Corporate Services Manager (CSM) in all accommodation and estates matters, including but not limited to:
Support the daily management of the estate, accommodation and assets – ensuring that residences and transit villas are suitably maintained; managing accommodation bookings.
Monitoring inventories; stock control and supply of estates/accommodation goods and equipment; ensuring that residential domestic floats are in place.
Lines manage two cleaners and two gardeners; work within UK Health and Safety regulations reporting back to the CSM.
Deputise for CSM in their absence.
Administration:
Manage the switchboard and handle general enquiries from the public
Liaise on all official events in the compound, working with the CSM, main organisers and stakeholders to ensure BCG and FCO regulations are adhered to.
Transport:
Manage day to day transport bookings in accordance with transport policy.
Ensuring all vehicles are properly maintained and roadworthy at all times.
Line manage 6 drivers,
Maintenance of transport records (e.g. mileage of vehicles and fuel consumption).

Essential qualifications and experience
Essential:
Excellent spoken and written English.
Computer literate: Excel & Word experience is essential (recognised qualifications preferable)
Well organised and able to work reliably with little supervision.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Desirable qualifications and experience
Desirable:
Experience working with Oracle/Prism/Pyramid advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided.
Previous Foreign Office or public sector experience.
Previous experience in estates management for either public or private sector.
Arabic and Urdu languages skills would be beneficial.

Other benefits and conditions of employment
Working Hours and Remuneration:
The starting salary will be SAR 5,470.84 per month inclusive of the Eid Bonus and the 25% housing allowance. An additional travel allowance of SAR 400 per month will also be payable. Free access to on site swimming pool, gymnasium and tennis court.
Normal working hours for the Embassy are 08.00 to 15.00 Sunday to Thursday. This position is full-time, based on 35 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be subject to a 90 day probationary period.

Eligibility:
The position is only available to holders of Saudi residence permits or transferable Iqamas, and successful candidates will be required to transfer their sponsorship to the British Embassy.
