The role and duties of the Lead Corporate Performance Specialist include broadly and well defined responsibilities and independently operates functionally without technical supervision in executing the required tasks. The role is expected to provide technical knowledge to the CPM team to build capacity within the department. The role includes: Formulation of Corporate Performance Management Framework, (policies, guidelines, procedures, Key Performance indicators etc.), ensuring effective implementation in the bank and reinforce performance driven culture in the bank for effective delivery of results based on agreed Presidency Objectives / KPIs. In addition, to oversee the performance reporting cycle based on the corporate performance business units with the aim of ensuring effective implementation of the business plans and work programs across the Bank.
Person:
Assume a lead role in implementation of strategic plans, in close cooperation with key business units such as Group Strategic Planning Department by ensuring that the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are incoporated for performance monitoring and reporting.
Identify and initiate suitable initiatives / strategies and present recommendation and findings on how to maximise efficiency and cost rationalisation in implementing departments work plans.
Technically lead the CPM team in facilitating the formulation of the departments work plans to attain agreed upon KPIs and targets.
Present findings and recommendations to Management and provide advice as required on business planning matters for effective implementation of work programs.
Lead in the conceptualisation and thought process in designing suitable corporate performance management reporting framework in the form of dashboards, appropriate techniques and methodologies linking performance indicators with budgetary resource utilisation.
Supervise the formulation, update, maintenance and follow up approval of the Performance Management Framework (policies, guidelines, procedures, methodology, tools, balanced scorecard instrument, Key Performance Indicators (KPI)).
Technically lead in the implementation of Performance Management Framework, Guidelines, Policies, Procedures and Methodologies.
Ensure that guidelines and policies are appropriately adopted by all business units in IDB.
Technically lead in the regular updating of corporate performance guidelines, policies and procedures consistent with the existing bank rules and policies.
Coordinate and facilitate providing assistance to IDB business units to define and measure desired business goals across functions, business units and lines of business, by utilizing performance management tools, KPIs at both institutional and departmental levels.
Ensure CPM team complies with IDB’s policies, processes, practices and systems, and maintains IDB’s high standard of work and work ethics.
Advise management on issues relating to corporate performance management especially relating to KPIs and other performance indicators for measuring department and institutional performance.
Promote and instil performance driven culture in IDB by designing and implementing appropriate tools and techniques of change management in IDB.
Coordinate with GBEST Team to implement appropriate systems to facilitate corporate performance reporting using corporate dashboards and other performance management tools.
Collaborate with MDBs/IFIs on matters of common interest and adopt best practices from within the development banking industry relating to performance management reporting, quality and efficiency benchmarks.
Establish communication with IDB business units for issues related to performance management and reporting.
Oversee performance analysis of IDB business units against agreed deliverables / targets and KPIs in line with budgetary requirements.
Lead the preparation of periodic reports and analyses of performance management results and plan including forecasts for year-end performance.
Present recommendations on resource realignment, based on performance monitoring, thus ensuring effective implementation of work programs.
Collaborate and exchange critical information with the Lead Budgeting Specialist and the business units on the performance of business units to determine future resource requirements.
Present findings and recommendations to Management on the implementation status of work programs and provide advice as required.
Lead in the preparation of technical presentations and meeting agendas based on performance management reports to inform and update management and the board on matters relating to performance management.
Experience: 12 years of experience in a relevant field
Qualifications: Masters degree in Finance / Business Administration/Management Sciences/ Any related field or relevant professional certificationProfessional certification in Accountancy or Finance (ACA, CPA, ICMA, ACCA) Working knowledge of SAP modules – Performance Management and Funds Management (FM)
