Reporting to the Hotel Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
A member of the Executive Committee with responsibility for development and Execution of the Hotel’s Strategic Plan
Responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Front Office, Housekeeping and Laundry.
Prepares the annual budgets and monthly forecast for all areas overseen
Ensures that the monthly financial outlooks and results for the Front Office, Housekeeping and Laundry Departments are accurate and on target.
Ensures full compliance with Swissotel Hotels & Resort’s Room’s and Swissotel Circle standards.
Customer service champion – leads all Front Office Departments to provide consistently outstanding service as measured by JD Power
Responsible for quarterly succession planning and the associated training and development of leaders. Creator of a “pipeline” of Rooms talent ready for promotion within the hotel and the company.
Adheres to the code of business conduct.
Ensures strong inter-departmental communication and cooperation in the interest of better Guest and Colleague satisfaction.
Ensures the recruitment of top talent into the hotel through effective networking recruiting, and interviewing.
Oversees the effective training and performance management of all Colleagues in the Front Office, Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.
Ensures all Guest comments and complaints are promptly followed up on and responded to.
Ensures Revenue and Inventory management practices are in place so as to maximize revenues for the hotel every day. Key member of the Revenue Management Team
Promotes the safety and wellbeing of our guests and co-workers by having a thorough knowledge of the Hotel’s crisis and emergency procedures.
Leads Front Office, Housekeeping and Laundry departments to maintain superior colleague engagement.
Maintains a safe and hazard free work environment.
Qualifications:
2 years’ experience as an Assistant Director Rooms Division, or greater position in a large, high volume luxury hotel or resort.
Direct experience in Front Office, Housekeeping and Laundry operations
Experience within a luxury, unionized work environment.
University Degree preferred
Able to work well under pressure and to manage multiple projects.
Proven track record of being able to execute complex procedures and plans
Excellent communication skills with second language proficiency, a plus.
Computer skills (Word, Excel).
Well organized and excellent attention to detail
Superior problem solving abilities
Highly organized, goal and results orientated individual with strong analytical skills
Proven track record of developing others to move on to positions of greater responsibility.
Must be creative, and have a sense of humor
