The role holder is responsible for practicing and promoting the highest possible standards of patient care according to clinical privileges and available resources in the assigned specialty or department. Responsibilities are divided between the outpatient and inpatient services; consultations, admissions and general inte
al medicine duties. Participates in the training and teaching program of King Saud Medical City. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Complies and adheres to the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, departmental and clinical policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvements objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards; and abide by the rules and regulations of the College of Medicine. Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for his/her patients. Carries out full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the Chairman of the department in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges. Reviews, examines, diagnose, treats and refers patients by conducting interviews, performing physical examination; creating, updating and studying patients’ medical records. Collects, records and maintains patient information and documentation such as medical history, reports and examination results. Performs and carries out on-call duties within a reasonable period of time as required by the department. Protects patients and colleagues by promoting awareness and adhering to infection control policies and standard protocols. Mentors and teaches staff, trainees and students for training and education purposes. Participates in and actively supports research projects and activities. Deputizes for his/her superior as required and shares the coverage workload in his/her specialty during the absence of equivalent in an assignment. Undertakes continuous medical education as required by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and King Saud Medical City to improve clinical expertise and develops professional and technical medical knowledge; Maintains awareness of new medical techniques, medications and medical technologies. Participates in the forward planning and implementation for further development of the department and assists in updating protocols and principles of medical practices as appropriate. Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of King Saud Medical City, as indicated. Performs multiple aspects of scope of practice and adheres to clinical privileges of the department as determined by King Saud Medical City. Builds and maintains a harmonious relationship with their patients and establish a strong professional environment with other health care members and other physicians. Responds to emergencies to offer advice and actively participate with problems if required, related to his/her specialty. Active participation in Continued Medical Education (C.M.E.) through educational hospital activities (mo
ing report meetings, grand rounds, clinical tutorials and seminars, jou
al club, radiology or clinic-pathological conferences). Also, through national and inte
ational meetings, conferences and symposia. Active participation in training program related to his field and organization within the hospital for training junior medical staff and in-service training for nursing staff and technicians. Participation in committee meetings assigned to him/her (Quality Improvement, Infection Control). On the on-call day, answers faxes from other institutions punctually. Other duties as directed by the Health within his/her specialty. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate from a recognized medical school. Saudi Board or equivalent qualification in the desired specialty. Two year sub-specialty fellowship certificate. Current Professional Registration from Country of Origin. Valid registration PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Registration in Saudi Medical Council and/or Current license to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia. YEARS AND NATURE OF EXPERIENCE: Three ( 3 ) years of specialized professional post qualification experience in the desired specialty in a recognized center or hospital. Skills Demonstrates leadership and administrative skills. Fluent in verbal and written English. Exhibits professionalism and excellent interpersonal communication skills. Is knowledgeable of the Medical by- laws. Knowledge of computer application. Education Saudi Board or equivalent qualification in the desired specialty.
