Bachelor’s degree in any (related) biological or allied health sciences e.g. Zoology, Nutrition, Psychology, Pharmacy etc with two years’ experience.

Preferred:

Master’s degree in any (related) biological or allied health sciences e.g. Zoology, Nutrition, Psychology, Pharmacy Health informatics, Health Information Management, No experience required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Assists with academic research.
Meets regularly with the supervisor to discuss research assignments.
Prepares materials for submission to agencies and foundations that fund research.
Prepares materials for Institutional review Board (IRB) review.
Coordinate and replies to project-related correspondence.
Prepares literature reviews and may assist in drafting research proposals and CRFs.
Recruit and/or interview subjects.
Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary.
Performs research work in archives, through interviews, online, or whatever may be appropriate to assist the assistant’s supervisor.
Participate effectively in community research and data acquisition.
Gathers and does a preliminary analysis of the data.
Provide ready access to all data for the researcher and/or supervisor.
Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project.
Organizes maintains, and updates project files and folders.
Supervises any undergraduate students working on assigned research projects.
Attends project meetings.
Assists in the acquisition of research materials.
Prepares other articles, reports, and presentations.
Performs routine clerical duties as instructed, if essential to the research activities of the supervisor or project to which the research assistant is assigned.
Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency.
Respects patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
Participates in, and supports, quality improvement and patient safety activates as an individual or as part of multidisciplinary teams.
Perform other job-related duties as required.
