§ Facilitates and/or participates in meetings and workshops, etc. for the purpose of identifying issues, developing recommendations, supporting other staff, and serving as a District representative.\r\n\r\n§ Inspects all aspects District transportation services for the purpose of ensuring that transportation activities are completed efficiently, and within regulatory requirements.\r\n\r\n§ Oversees vehicle preventative maintenance programs and activities for the purpose of ensuring school vehicles are maintained in a safe and effective operating condition.\r\n\r\n§ Performs personnel functions (e.g. interviewing, evaluating, supervising, counselling, disciplining, directing, training, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and achieving department objectives within budget.\r\n\r\n§ Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. bid specifications, correspondence, memos, reports, policy/procedures, budget, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.\r\n\r\n§ Presents information for the purpose of communicating information, gaining feedback and ensuring adherence to established inte
al controls.\r\n\r\n§ Recommends new hires, promotions, termination and transfers for the purpose of maintaining staffing needs and productivity of the work force.\r\n\r\n§ Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions related to District transportation services for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the District’s goals and objectives.\r\n\r\n§ Researches new equipment / vehicles, laws, regulations, etc. for the purpose of recommending purchases, contracts and proper maintenance of district wide services.\r\n\r\nResponds to emergency situations during and after standard hours for the purpose of resolving.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n§ A degree in Mechanical Engineering with some training on strategic and operational planning and management.\r\n\r\n§ 10 years’ experience in workshop maintenance and transportation.\r\n\r\n§ Strong technical skills\r\n\r\n§ Good analytical & problem-solving skills.\r\n\r\n§ Good management skills including planning and organizing.\r\n\r\n§ Good time management skills\r\n\r\n
